Object Description:

PEDERSEN RIFLE MODEL GY .30 SN# 3
Manufactured by - Experimental Model GY Garand type rifle made by Pedersen. From the personal collection of the inventor, J.D. Pedersen. 8-rd. clip-loaded. Weighs 10 lbs. It is believed that only 12 of these were made. At least one other is known, and that is in a private collection.

Markings:
Receiver: 3 PEDERSEN SELF-LOADING RIFLE/MODEL GY. CAL. 30 U.S. Believed that Pedersen
attempted to have weapon tested at SPAR in 1942 or 43. Only 12 made.

Weapon donated to the Museum by Mrs. E.A. Pedersen on 11 November 1966. At that time weapon was appraised at $3,500.

Notes: "Experimental 'Model G-Y' Garand Type Rifle, made by Pedersen, Circa 1939, marked on frame 'PEDERSEN SELF LOADING RIFLE MODEL G-Y,' caliber .30, US. Serial no. 3, about mint condition. From the personal collection of the inventor J.D. Pedersen. The only known specimen." - Norm Flayderman
