U.S. SABER MODEL 1913 CAVALRY SN# 274
Manufactured by Springfield Armory, Springfield, Ma. - Based on theory that point of saber was more important in cavalry use than the edge, U.S. adopted a straight blade designed to favor a thrusting rather than a cutting action. Manufactured form 1913-1918.
