Object Description:

POWDER FLASK
Maker unknown - Powder flask made from two pieces of thin moulded horn riveted together and with common charger top of brass and adjustable spout top. Has four carrying rings. Complete, tight, and in very good condition.

Powder flask donated to the Springfield Armory NHS by Tufts University (Victor A. Friend Collection) on 3 August 1979.

Friend's #A-22 - "Moulded Horn Powder Flask. 5 1/2 inch. Made of two pieces of thin horn, moulded to shape and edges riveted together. Brass charger nozzle secured to top. Has two pairs of rings for carrying cord. This is an unusual type flask."
