Friend's #A-27 - "Copper Powder Flask. 6 inch. Pointed oval panel design, with leaf-like and bead border. Graduated, brass charger nozzle."

Notes: "Frary, Benham and Company, which we have reason to believe was also known as the American Powder Flask Company of Meriden, only lasted a year or two. According to the 'History of New Haven County, Conn.' by J.L. Rockey, Volume 1, page 487, we note - '...at the Frary Shop, on the site of the present Malleable Iron Works. After 1855 the Frary Shops were used by the American Powder Flask Company of which James B. Frary and others were interested members.' The flasks marked Frary Benham & Co. were well and carefully made. This company was taken over as will be seen by the American Flask and Cap Company of New Haven, Conn." - See, Riling's POWDER FLASK BOOK #523.
