Object Description:
POWDER FLASK
Manufactured by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield, England - Large flat powder flask with fancy patent top. The top unscrews, has recessed spring and the charger spout is adjustable and is hinged to swivel to the side. The body of the flask is leather covered with what appears to be pigskin. Spring broken otherwise in good condition.

Powder flask donated to the Springfield Armory NHS by Tufts University (Victor A. Friend Collection) on 3 August 1979.
Friend's #A-38 - "English Leather Covered Powder Flask. 9 inch. This high grade flask is pig skin covered. Has polished brass top cap, with graduated swivel charger. Top cap unscrews for filling the flask with powder. Marked 'James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield. Quick Loading, Fireproof.'"
