POWDER FLASK
Manufactured by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield, England - Large copper powder flask with fancy patent top that unscrews and has inverted spout so as to swing to one side - same as SPAR-7962. Body embossed on both sides with large and simple shell design. Complete and in good condition.
Markings:
Patent top: JAMES DIXON/ AND SONS/SHEFFIELD.
Powder flask donated to the Springfield Armory NHS by Tufts University (Victor A. Friend Collection) on 3 August 1979.
Friend's #A-39 - "English Copper Powder Flask. 8 1/2 inch. Scallop shell design. Brass top cap and graduated, swivel charger. Marked 'James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield."
