Object Description:
POWDER FLASK
Manufactured by Dixon & Sons, Sheffield, England - Copper powder flask with brass screw-off patent top with adjustable charger. Body of flask is a basketweave design with leaves at the bottom - see, Riling's #427. Spring is broken otherwise flask in very good condition with what appears to be original lacquer finish.

Top: DIXON & SONS/PATENT.
Powder flask donated to the Springfield Armory NHS by Tufts University (Victor A. Friend Collection) on 3 August 1979.
Friend's #A-42 - "Large English Powder Flask. 8 1/2 inch. Brown lacquered finish, with basket weave design and leaf design at bottom. Brass top cap, with large size, graduated charger. Top unscrews for filling. Marked 'Dixon & Sons Patent.'"
