Object Description:

TRENCH DEVICE
Manufactured by - Tubular metal framework with clamps designed to hold an '03 rifle in such a position that it can be fired from the relative security of a trench. The heel of the rifle fits into a socket and a clamp secures it at the small of the stock. The x-frame device incorporates a shoulder stock and a "remote" bolt operating device.

The only visible markings are CAST STEEL and P.A. CO/76.

Transferred to the Museum on 22 Janaury 1940.
