Object Description:

GERMAN PISTOL SAUER MODEL 38(H) 7.65MM
Manufactured by Sauer & Sohn, Suhl, Germany - Standard semi-automatic double-action pistol. Blowback-operated, striker-fired. Fixed blade front, adjustable U-notch rear sight. 4-groove rifling, right hand twist. 8-round detachable box magazine fed. Blued with black composition grips. Weapon weighs approximately 25.4 ounces. Weapon probably a very late WWII production. No magazine. Lacks manual safety in slide. Missing left grip.

Markings:
Grip: 1A in circle inside grip.
Safety: H.

Weapon transferred to the Springfield Armory Museum from the Aberdeen Museum on 8 March 1960.
