Object Description:
U.S. RIFLE MODEL 1870 ROLLING BLOCK ARMY TRIAL .50-70
Manufactured by Springfield Armory, Springfield, Ma. in 1870 - Standard single-shot breechloading rifle with rolling block action. Full-length forend held on by two barrel bands. Finish is bright and case-colored. Two-bands, spring-fastened. Swivels on upper and band and attached to front of triggerguard. Weapon has an overall length of 53 3/4" and a barrel length of 36".
