Object Description:

U.S. RIFLE MODEL 1922 BROWNING AUTOMATIC .30 SN# 255463
Manufactured by Marlin-Rockwell, New Haven, Ct. - Variant of the Model 1918 Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR). Finned barrel to improve cooling. Groove around butt intended for stock of monopod. Sling swivel on left side of stock. Rate of fire: 550 rpm. AKA: Cavalry Model 1922. Sling swivel, backplate screw, flash hider missing otherwise complete and in good shape. Declared obsolete on April 10, 1941.

Receiver: BROWNING AUTOMATIC RIFLE/U.S. CAL..30 MODEL 1918/MFD. BY MARLIN-ROCKWELL CORP./255463/PATENTED MAR. 28, 1916. NO. 1176873.

Weapon transferred to the Museum on 29 November 1951.
